A socket to fix, a removable post

The UNFIX principle relies on a discreet socket screwed into the floor, into which the tube slots. The post can be set and removed in seconds, as often as needed. When not in use, a floor cap closes the opening flush with the surface, with no trip edge. Fix once, reconfigure endlessly.

A blue guide, clear and reassuring

The blue lacquered steel tube (RAL 5017) carries a retractable belt that extends smoothly and returns without snapping thanks to its braking mechanism, a welcome safety point in busy areas. The housing offers one belt outlet and several inlets to connect posts in a straight line or at an angle. Blue evokes trust and public service, ideal to guide without being intrusive.

What floor types can the socket be fixed into?+

The socket is fixed into hard, flat floors such as concrete, tiling or natural stone, using suitable screws and wall plugs. On a soft or loose surface, a rigid sub-base is recommended. Our technical team can advise on the right fixings for your floor.

Can several locations be set up for the same post?+

Yes. You can fix several sockets at different spots and move the same post between them. Each unused socket is closed off with its floor cap. Ideal for guidance that changes through the day.

What is the difference with the FIX range?+

The FIX range is permanently screwed into the floor for permanent barrier work. The UNFIX range offers the same stability, but the post stays removable: you lift it out without tools as soon as the space needs to be free again.

How many posts are needed to mark out a queue?+

Allow roughly one post every 3 metres: the recommended spacing for a taut belt and a legible route. For a 12 m queue, plan for five posts. Our team can size your installation on request.

Is this removable post suitable for outdoor use?+

It is designed for indoor use: receptions, halls, shops, museums. For an outdoor or damp environment, contact us and we will point you to the right finish.

Can this post be connected to a wall or another post?+

Yes. The belt end clips onto the neighbouring post or onto a wall anchor. This lets you build straight or angled routes and finish a queue neatly against a wall.

Does the blue finish withstand repeated use?+

Yes. The tube receives a baked electrostatic paint finish (RAL 5017), hard and even, that resists light knocks and routine cleaning. The colour stays stable over time indoors, with no chalking or flaking.

Can just the belt or the reel be replaced if worn?+

Yes. Belt, reel and socket are available separately: a replaced part costs a fraction of the full post. A durable choice, with no planned obsolescence.

How do you maintain the removable socketed post?+

A soft, lightly damp cloth is enough for the tube and housing. Avoid abrasive products on the printed belt. The socket and its cap can be cleaned at the same time, with no disassembly.
